Step 1:Cut Out Your Tag
I've made a free template for this tag. My tags measure approximately 10cm x 7.5cm (4" x 3"). All you have to do is print out the image, cut it out, and use it as a template for your tags. It doesn't get much easier than that!
Step 2:Punch Hole in Top of Tag
I like to do this before decorating the tag to ensure I don't place a key element where the hole will be. Simply take your hole puncher and punch a hole at the top of the tag.
Step 3:Decorate the Tag
This step is completely up to you. You can create a collage, stamp an image, create a painting or illustration, use decorative embellishments, etc. Let your imagination and creativity run wild!
Step 4:Cut Your String
I make a lot of different size tags, so I never measure the string. Instead, I wrap the string 1 1/2 times lengthwise around the tag. This always gives me just the right length of string for whatever size tag I'm making.
Step 5:Attach Your String
Take both ends of your string and tie a double-knot.
Thread the tied string through the hole, from the back to front. The knot should be on the back-side of the tag.
Take the string from the front-side of the tag and thread it through the loop on the back-side of the tag.
Now, just pull the string to tighten the knot and you're done. Pretty easy, huh?
