Great Idea
I take a train to work downtown, but sometimes still need a car to run out here and there, so I signed up for igo. it has been great.

One less car
My boyfriend never believed me, but I've sold my car, lost 5k lbs and reduced my carbon footprint all in one day! I joined I-GO awhile back, specifically to move some larger items that did not fit in my car. I've used their Honda Elements to travel to Ikea, and Michigan City, for a few hours at a time. They are very affordable and convenient - they add locations seemingly every week. The system works well, at least for me, my only request would be to add an I-Pass to their vehicles. I love I-GO, the people are great, friendly, helpful and genuine. And most of all, I prefer them to any other service since they are non-profit. They also offer Chi-Town rewards with local businesses and they are located in a LEED Platinum bldg, as part of the Center for Neighborhood Technology, CNT.org.

Great Alternative
Being able to find more than 100 cars in Chicago to use, no longer having to worry about the hassles of car ownership has improved my life. Being an I-Go member makes it a perfect way to help the environment and to share community resources. I find it easy to reserve and use the cars, they have an environmental friendly fleet of cars and the great staff who are always willing to help.

Great Service...Sometimes a miss on the operations...
This is a great service for anyone who needs to use a car maybe once or twice a week for about 2-3 hours each time. If you need something for a longer duration, I-Go's rates are not very competitive and can land up being very costly in the end. Though they do have their special rates for specific car ($60/day) you are still better off renting a car from a rental company. Operationally, they still aren't the best when it comes to responding to billing inquiries, vehicle issues, and scheduling. Like I said, overall not a bad service for the occasion driver, but definitely not something that would be affordable on a long term basis.
