a greener Apple yesterday, today, and tomorrow

I know they don't even make the iBook G4 anymore. I purchased it like over 3 years ago, and she's still running strong. On May 2, 2007, Steve Jobs made a policy annoucement, and Apple has rebranded as "a greener Apple" (go check out their homepage). Now Apple has never been one to greenwash nor trumpet its sustainability accomplishments, and it's come under fire of late. Hence, Jobs is setting the record straight. As of last year, almost 10% of all of Apple's products are being recycled (E-waste), and it's set to climb to like 3x that by 2010. Apple has been phasing out lead, cadmium, chromium, arsenic, mercury, and PVC. I predict that while their product will continue to get better and better (it's about time for me to pick up a new laptop -- I've never had a complaint with mine nor with Apple's service), we'll also see a greener Apple emerge and this time we'll actually see it, rather than have it go on all the time without our knowing. :)
