Over the years, I've come up with some pretty creative costumes for my kids. We made their costumes from all kinds of stuff we had around the house or scrounged around to find at local thrift shops; it never dawned on me back then that they were "eco-friendly". It's not too late to get in on some great fun and win prizes showing off your kids' eco-friendly costume creations this year.

We keep a costume trunk full of hand me downs, and I upcycle my kids' costumes from that. We also have an informal "costume exchange" with the neighbors, where we can reuse costumes over and over again!

That's great... I've been to my share of clothing swaps as well -- for everyday living -- but the problem now is I have too many clothes. Time for another clothing swap! =)
