I Never Knew!

All I knew about Ayurveda before I watched this DVD was what I learned in my intro to Eastern Religions class back in college. Which was, needless to say, nothing of any value. This video really opened my eyes. The thing I liked most about this video is that, without ever getting too technical, it helped to link specific practices problems to their causes, and link the practices to those causes. This is more than we can say about most modern medicine and/or beauty products - my lotion says it has Shea butter in it and that will make my skin softer, but gives me no clue as to why that might be. My doctor tells me Advil will cure my headache, but I have no clue why.

This video is the perfect introduction for complete beginers like myself, or those with a a very limited knowledge of Ayurvedic practices. It walks you through all the different Ayurvedic body types and what they are (I had to go look mine up online) and then walks you through various body/beauty treatments meant for each type. Its instructions were easy to follow, and I was surprisingly entertained for the entire hour. I would definitely recommend this DVD to anyone interested in learning more about Ayurvedic medicine and beauty, or really anyone interested in taking a new look at ancient practices and seeing how we can apply them today.
