As CEO of a green web hosting company, Ivan works with clients and takes care of everything on the backend of the business too: legal, accounting, sales, and technology. He also makes sure his company practices what it promotes by reducing energy and water usage and reducing waste in the office.
“I love the fact that this job combines so many things,” says Ivan. “Talking with new customers and doing sales, and then turning off the phone and email and focusing on a piece of new code.”
SustainableWebsites.com helps green entrepreneurs set up their websites and increase their online visibility.
Ivan began as a consultant before realizing that offering a web service with a monthly subscription model would give him a base of steady income when consulting projects were not available. He says his experience doing sales for a green power marketing company taught him how to make sure his business is carbon-neutral.
“The whole company ethos is to always do the best we can in terms of environmental responsibility and provide innovative technology solutions,” says Ivan. “We also encourage other entrepreneurial green businesses to support each other, and grow the green economy.”
Ivan has a bachelor's degree in environmental geography from Colgate University and an MBA from the University of Colorado.
