the food and drinks offered at java green are delicious. and i like their various non-dairy options for both food and drink. my favorite sandwich is the boolgogi and temptation. the fresh smoothies are always a nice treat!
IN MY HOMETOWN AREA OF WASHINGTON DC, THERE IS A GREAT LUNCH SPOT WHERE PEOPLE LINE UP TO GET HEALTHY, ORGANIC GREAT TASTING FOOD. JAVA GREEN IS A GREAT ROLE MODEL OF HOW RESTAURANTS SHOULD OPERATE - THEY HAVE COMPOSTABLE PACKAGING, ORGANIC COFFEE AND FOOD AND THEY USE WIND ENERGY FOR THEIR SITE. THE GREAT NEWS IS THAT JAVA GREEN IS EXPANDING! SO, CHECK THEM OUT AND GO TO THE NEAREST ONE TO YOU...OR TRY TO SUPPORT SIMILAR RESTAURANTS WITH GREAT FOOD AND ENVIRONMENTAL PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES!

Java Green is simply the most wonderful place in all of DC to eat. The cafe serves only organic vegan and vegetarian meals, however the fusion menu is so diverse and so filled with conscious creations that it appeals to a broad customer base. In fact, most of the people that eat their are not even vegetarians. Every lunchtime there is a line out the door that goes at least 100 feet. The storeowner DJ Kim greets every guest with a warm smile and a hug. It is amazing to see him interacting with every single customer in a way that each one of them feels that DJ is their special friend. Java Green was also recently nominated by Co-op America for the Green Business Leadership Award. All their utensils are biodegradable and they purchase 100% wind power. I tell everyone I know about this great cafe. It really is the only place to eat in DC.
