Best chocolate snack bar ever!
Lara Bars are my favorite snack bar, and I'm a big fan of the chocolate bars. They aren't overly sweet, they are full of nuts and fruit that you can find in any natural grocery store's bulk section to thrown in a blender and make yourself. Almost makes me feel guilty about buying them instead of making them!

Whole food snack bar
Larabars are delicious. And if you're following any type of special diet, all the better, because they are vegan, raw, unprocessed, have no added sugar, non-GMO, are gluten-, soy- and dairy-free, and Kosher! Wow! They have lots of flavors- Cashew Cookie is my favorite. I love the lemon too, but I'm sad to say that it contains "Natural Flavors" (which is sometimes code for chemicals.) Because of that, I'm only giving Larabar 3 stars. But, yum!

When food in a bar must be had, try this one.
Generally, I despise "food in a bar" and the lifestyle that such convenient foods promote, but I too often become busy, and find myself on the go, hungry, low blood sugary, and needing something. On one such day, I tried a Jocalat bar. A teeny tiny dense lump of nuts and dates with cocoa flavor, and I liked it quite a bit. It wasn't too sweet. I normally don't eat chocolate flavored granola bars, or treats. I'm really not a big chocolate person, but this was great. It tasted like cocoa, and not sugar. I will eat one again.

Fruit and nuts.... and its NOT a christmas fruitcake
i was a bit concerned when i read their ingredient list. i tried not to try these for a while. they use a lot of fruits, nuts, and dates (i hate dates). i like fruit and nuts, but usually in a trail mix. i finally broke down and purchased a few different bars for a flight i was on. well.... i loved em. the blend of ingredients was a good balance, and i didn't even realize i was eating dates (did i mention i hate dates). this has become my regular mid-day snack.

Fairly sweet, supremely fair
I was out at Costco last night and was half-surprised to find Organic snacks in the snack aisle. Since I avoid candy bars and soda like the black plague (unless it's already plunked down in the house somewhere, but even then) I was happy. Had a good chat with a construction worker who claimed he was by no means "trying to be greener" but said that Larabars are just damned good. So I gave them a try. What a nice surprise! Although, I had hoped for more given the hype. I love the fact that they're organic, fair-trade, and have no more than 5 ingredients. That's awesome! My fave flav is mint. I'll be buying more Larabars from now on!!

Larabar Jocalat Organic chocolate food bar - no sugar and delicious!
I tried this amazing candy bar at the Chicago Green Festival. The ingredients are all organic, and they use organic dates instead of sugar as a sweetner. Sometimes "healthy" snacks taste, well, a little too healthy for me. These Larabar Jocalat bars taste like the real deal...smooth chocolate flavor, and the right consistency and all. I love the Chocolate coffee bar....really amazing, like having a moca java, but in a bar instead of in a cup. If you have kids and are looking for a great treat for them, they have lots of flavors and your kids will love these. For me, I think I'll keep some around for when I get a hankering for something sweet and chocolatey!

yummy snack bar
i am not a big fan of energy bars because they often have an off-bitter taste, like they crushed a giant multi-vitamin and tried to hide it in the mix. these are a pleasant surprise. they don't have an off-taste, instead taste very nutty and smooth. i recommend any of the chocolate flavors, which are fudgy and delicious!
