Buy it or learn it....

June Taylor Company gets my vote as a solid local company that walks the walk. They make an outstanding product which isn't all that technical -- and they teach people how to do it. I have never tasted a June Taylor jam or jelly that I did not just adore.

Though I do make my own jams and jellies already - I'm dying take a class. I picked up a fantastic tip from an interview -- keeping your clean jars on a cookie sheet in the oven at 150 is all you need for making jam or jelly. What you put in the jar is going to be much hotter, so you really don't need the hot water bath to seal the jars. I followed this tip and it worked like a charm -- cutting down on the mess, effort and waste (how many gallons of water?) in setting up a big hot water bath to seal my jelly jars.

Please do your sweet tooth a favor - pick up some delicious June Taylor jams or take a class - you'll be quite glad!
