Captain Charles Moore and his crew are sampling the Great Pacific Garbage Patch again. Their goal is to scientifically collect samples and find out the facts about plastic debris in our oceans.

The marine research vessel, Algalita, is off on another voyage to sample and study the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Captain Charles Moore and a crew of five left Long Beach, CA, one week ago for the North Pacific. They will refuel in Hawaii and sail for an area of the Pacific recommended by NOAA. Keep track of their progress on their daily blog. It's very interesting to read about what they find. Crew member Joel Paschal is my son. This is his second voyage on the Algalita plus last summer he floated across the Pacific on the Junkraft.
