The Kitchen Cleaner by Seventh Generation claims to cut through grease and be appropriate for counters, sinks, and walls. It is all-natural and chlorine-free.

I have used various non-green products in the past, including Clorox and Lysol, for my kitchen counters, which are an off-white and stain easily. Compared to these leading brands the Seventh Generation product works just as well, if not even better. I spray it on, concentrating on stains and build-up, let it sit for a minute, then wipe it off with a wet dishrag. The heaviest build-up usually comes off in just a few scrubs, and stains normally disappear, even some long-standing stains have begun to become less noticeable with continued use of this product. Also, when I am done cleaning my counters have a sparkley shine, which dries without leaving a film. Since this product is chlorine free, I don't have to worry about whether it is leaving bleach on my food surfaces, or be worried about it ruining the dyes in my dishrag, or ruining anything sitting where I might accidentally spray.

Dear Sarah, The best thing I have found to get out stains from white counter top is baking soda. Just add a touch of water and in a few quick swipes you will be stain-free. & it's so incredibly cost effective! more »
