Light Up Your Holidays with Low Energy L.E.D. String Lights
A Colorado-based company, Holiday Creations, has been recommended to receive an award for product innovation and consumer safety for their L.E.D. low-energy string lights. Light-emitting diodes, like most of us have in our wrist watch, alarm clock, and/or calculator , can light up our holiday season with a whopping 90 percent increase in efficient over all the traditional Christmas lights on the market. According to National Geographic, Holiday Creations claims their string lights have 200,000 hours of life (seems high to me, and didn't find that claim on their website). If I calculate that figure correctly, my lights will last me for the next 23 Christmas seasons...sheesh! They could possibly outlive me!
The US Department of Energy claims that if ALL of us, switched to LED string lights, a minimum of two billion kilowatt-hours of electricity could be saved in a the month of December - well, any month actually.
