Laptop lunch boxes - and customer service

My daughters love the outside flowered bag that the boxes come with. They are cute! However, I agree with a prior comment that to be truly useful and versitile, each of the plastic boxes should have a lid. I love that they include a pretty yellow flower attachment to put the child's name.

Great product!

I LOVE my laptop lunch bento box! I ordered the black and red bento set with the sleeve. I got it for work, but found myself using for hikes and long bike rides too!! Not only does it provide a waste-free lunch, but I've found that I've been eating better, and my portions are more reasonable too!

Love this bento!

My lunch-making life changed completely when I started packing my kids' lunches in the Laptop Lunches bento set. The food containers allow me to pack a range of foods in a variety of shapes, textures, and colors. They're eating more fresh fruits and vegetables now, and I can easily pack leftovers as well. Their bento boxes almost always come home empty, but when they don't, they can finish it in the car on the way home from school. The user's guide is chock full of creative ideas, recipes, and menus for packing nutritious lunches.Well done!

bento boxes

I don't understand the rave on these. I am presently using my daughter's boxes as bath toys. The boxes inside the laptop, DO NOT come with lids. Well, one box does and that is not a bath toy. The company has designed it so that the top of the other 3 boxes are flush with the lid of the bento box, but once you put the lunchbox on its side everything meshes together. I'm at a loss & wish the company had lids that I could buy for the other containers so that this wasn't a total loss; but they don't sell lids for the other boxes. So in my attempt to be environmental I have just wasted more plastic. I do feel misled by the company. I assumed all of the boxes would come with lids. No lids are pictured in the photos. I give them 1 star for the 1 lid.

Cute packaging will encourage good eating

We got a Laptop Lunch Bento Box for my daughter. I am VERY pleased. I'll be getting one for myself, and one for my son once he starts school, too! The boxes are sturdy and everything fits together neatly in a compact package, even including a fork and spoon. Best of all, it's not just a well-designed food storage system which will prevent wasteful packaging -- it's also a way to encourage good eating habits.

Having a lunchbox that she uses every day forces us to put some thought into what she'll take for lunch. While I know logically that's the best thing to do -- both nutritionally and financially -- there are times when it's tempting to just throw something in a bag, or hand her the cost of school lunch. Having a fun and attractive bento box system will encourage us to spend time fixing lunch, increasing her interest in making good food choices and giving us quality time to spend together. Simultaneously, she's got a lunch system which will greatly reduce the amount of food packaging waste that is often involved in lunch (no plastic sandwich bags or anything like that). While I might get the same environmental benefits just by using Tupperware-style containers in a lunchbag, the Laptop Lunch Bento Box set has a cheerful, attractive color and design which is much more appealing to a child.

The thick user's manual is very helpful. Only a few pages deal with the bento box set itself (which is understandable, because it's straightforward -- put food in containers, send child to school, child eats food and comes home, repeat). The rest describes ways in which taking nutritious food for school lunch can be very helpful for the environment, for children, and for parents too. It includes menu suggestions to give you ideas to get started with, and strategies for coming up with your own ideas later. Overall, my children and I will be encouraged to make positive food choices and develop healthy eating habits!

Reusable Bento-Style Lunch Box with a User's Guide - Cook Book

My order came within two days! I bought a primary and a whimsical colored Bento Box Set (manufactured by Obentec www.obentec.com). It's a set because it came packaged with a 94-page user's guide - cookbook, chalked full of tips and recipes for "making wholesome, earth-friendly lunches your kids will love" written by Amy Hemmert and Tammy Pelstring. I would give them a 5-star, except, I confused my order when looking at the product photos and only clicked on ordering the box, without the additional insulated carrying case. I actually wanted the case too. I also would have liked all the interior containers to have lids. Only the largest and the smallest containers can hold juicy lunch items; the other three are lidless. However, the bento-style boxes come with a spoon and fork, and the logo on top calls their Laptop Lunches "Tools to Eat Smart". And, you are much, much smarter after perusing the user's guide!

Great lunchboxes make great lunches

OK, I'll admit it: I am addicted to the Vegan Lunch Box blog. http://veganlunchbox.blogspot.com/. Sure, there are lots of kid-tested, tasty recipes, but there are also lots of good tips for making vegan lunches look appealing, too. That is where I learned about these Laptop Lunchboxes. Visit the site and you will be inspired.

Of course, I want to support a local (ish) business, too.

Some of the lids cracked, but they replaced them quickly and have changed the design on the new lids.

amazing lunch with no waste!

I pack my lunches everyday and I hate using plastic bags for my sandwiches and snacks and when I saw the laptop lunch box it was a match made in heaven. Its a plastic lunch box with individual containers and dividers within it for sandwiches, salads, fruits and even a dressing container. I love it! NO MORE WASTE!!!
