Does not work!

This liquid laundry detergent does not work! My mascara stains on just as apparent on washclothes coming out of the machine as they were going in. If you want a product that really works buy the biokleen----it's cheaper too!

i like the smell and it works

Based on some of the other reviews here I didn't think I was going to like this laundry detergent, but actually I do and here's why:

1) Ecover uses only plant based ingredients that are gentle on my skin. I often hand wash my bras and other delicate items and when in a rush I don't use gloves and regret is afterwards when my hands feel dried out from the chemicals in harsh conventional detergents.

2) I like the light lavender and natural smell of my clothes after washing. It makes me feel much better than the smell of Tide and other artificially fragrant detergents.

3) My clothes look and feel clean! I don't soil my clothes too much so I can't say how effective this detergent is on tough stains, but given all the company that makes this detergent is doing for me and the environment, I'm willing to give it a try.

Discover the mediocrity of Ecover

When we ran out of Tide, I decided it was time to discover a green laundry detergent, and fell for Ecover (it was the most affordable). This laundry wash smells a little too herby, and the problem is that the smell is a cover up kind of smell, you know, like there remains a hint of the dirty clothes stink after the wash. Even more disappointing was that my dirt dusted socks from last week's camping trip looked only slightly less dusted after the wash. Ecover is ok-- it feels good to have left the Tide, but I am still looking for the next good thing to wash up on shore. (ok, so Tide is not such a good thing, but at least it was cheap and cleaned those dirt stains).

Not clean

I have read that Ecover is petroleum based and I also did not find the product to be very effective.

safe detergent

It makes all the sense on the finite resources on this globe that there be a sane alternative to cleaning one's dishes.

Clean and fresh

Ecover laundry detergent always leaves my clothes clean and fresh without that artificial perfume odor. Since this product is biodegradable and made from vegetable products, I know it's not hurting the environment and can feel good about using it at home or at the Laundromat.
