According to a report produced by 1E and the Alliance to Save Energy, U.S. companies lost as much as $46 million over the three-day Independence Day weekend by not requiring their employees to turn off their computers. The report estimates that if the 104 million workers who use PCs at work left them on for the long weekend, they would have contributed 474 million pounds of CO2 to the atmosphere.
