Best sauerkraut for a rueben sandwich!

I adore the Lemon Dill sauerkraut - I always keep a jar in the fridge and two or three bites are often the first thing I eat in the morning. It's the best way to get good buggies in your tummy -- it's local to the Bay Area, organic and vegan. If you go to the Farmer's Market, you can get it a lot cheaper than at some of the natural grocery stores. They have a lot more flavors available at the Berkeley Farmer's Market on Saturdays -- and they allow tasting.

Yum, but expensive!

I also love Cultured's raw sauerkraut. I buy mine at Farmer Joe's Market. Only disappointment is the price: a 16oz kraut costs $11.75! I appreciate quality, but the price for a mixture of lemon, garlic, dill, and cabbage is outrageous.

Berkeley farmers' market sauerkraut

The Cultured sauerkraut (you can find it at the Berkeley farmers' market, Bi-Rite, Rainbow, and other places) is excellent. It's raw, organic, and has naturally occurring Lactobacillus in it. That means it's good for you!

I like the Lemon Garlic Dill kind. It's good on sausages, sandwiches, or as an accompaniment to other dishes.

The probiotics are good for your digestive system in that they help you to absorb more nutrients and eliminate more toxins in your body, which boosts the immune system. Wow, all that if I eat sauerkraut?

I don't think these guys have a website, because I tried to find it. I actually once worked in their kitchen over in Berkeley. My wife even helped prepare the sauerkraut one fine day.
