my first hemp pants

I found another pair of yoga pants to try, this time it's hemp material and quite unique from Lotus Organics. It's soft, yet will get softer after more washings. It has an interesting heather-like appearance due to the clay-based earth dye, yes earth I assume means soil! I am fascinated and curious about this eco-friendly process. Hemp is one of the oldest and strongest natural fibers, and this plant produces 3x more fiber per acre than cotton! Hemp is also resistant to insects so doesn't require any pesticides. What a revolutionary option this material could be for clothing and textiles. I applaud Lotus for their dedication to the environment, as they have paper and string tags. However the pants were shipped inside a plastic bag, and I have yet to receive any clothing shipment that is not. Lotus Organics are located in Fairfield, Iowa, so they are nearly local to me.
