While I found the Apple Ginger bars wholesome and flavorful, I think they need to work on the texture a bit. You need strong teeth for this item. It's kind of like biting into a piece of particle board. The package does say you can re-hydrate them by soaking, but then if I was going to do that, I'd just have a bowl of granola. They are Gluten free, which is good for my diet, but they're not the best for a quick snack due to the texture.

I've been using Lydia's Lovin' Organic Food Nut and Seed bars for the last year as both meals, and snacks. But at the Green Fest, I got to meet Lydia, and taste some of her other wonderful foods. Lydia has both raw and cooked foods at her restaurant, but I still am glad I can purchase the raw bars at most health food stores because I don't live near her restaurant. My favorite bars are the apple/fig and apple/ginger bars. They contain raw, organic, sprouted nuts and seeds and dried apple/figs/ginger, but they are not very sweet...and you can dehydrate them. I chew them slowly and follow with a lot of water, and they satisfy my hunger pangs without throwing me into a craving for more sweets. The bars are wonderful for travel. I never have to get airport food because I bring a selection of bars. She's got a website where more info is available. It was really a treat to meet Lydia in person at the Green Fest. It's wonderful to have these raw, organic, sprouted, delicious products. Don't be put off when you first bite into one. They may be hard, and dry. Make sure you chew them, and the flavor will emerge, and then follow with water or tea. Delicious.
