Manzanita is a really great local restaurant with a lovely outdoor patio for warm weather dining. They offer a set menu with price points based on a "full" or "moderate" size plate that includes soup, tea and a really filling tasty plate of food. The baked goods are also quite tasty! There is a buffet on Saturdays. They've raised their prices recently making it a bit harder for me to justify eating out when the food is so simply prepared and made from inexpensive ingredients.

Manzanita doesn't offer much by way of atmosphere. It's a bunch of tables in a mostly undecorated space. They have two menu options each day (though I think you can get a la carte), and I always get the small plate of the main meal. Taste is inconsistent--a couple times, it's been terrific; others, not as good. But consistently the food is fresh and healthy and relatively inexpensive--you can dine here for about $10. You're getting wonderful greens, whole grains, and vegetables, plus twig tea, plenty of fill you up. Anytime I'm feeling like I've been eating food that's no so good for me, I like to go here. My girlfriend isn't as psyched, usually, but when we go, she generally feels good afterward. Don't expect fancy, tolerate the inconsistentcy and atmosphere, but appreciate what a wonderful thing that Manzanita exists.

Reliably delicious, hip and relaxed staff, and low impact operations. Long-standing restaurant with loyal, regular customers - especially at lunch.
