I have taken Mona Vie faithfully and it gave me a burst of energy. HOWEVER, I also noticed that it causes my periods to come early and it gives me bad mood swings. For these reasons, I am giving up this power juice. Has this happened to anyone else out there?

New Vision® tested superior again! Forté has one of the most powerful antioxidant concentrations available on the market. With the amazing combination of açaí berries, pomegranates, blueberries, and luo han guo fruits, Forté has unsurpassed anthocyanin strength that is unmatched by any other açaí product! The result is a product with super juice power that conveniently fits in with your active, healthy lifestyle.
The juicy purple in the Forté açaí berries, the luscious red color of a pomegranate and the deep blue hue in blueberries exhibit their rich pigmentation from the phytonutrient-rich anthocyanins. Anthocyanins produce some of the most potent and intense forms of antioxidants, which helps fight oxidation by counteracting free radicals.* In fact, anthocyanins are why many doctors recommend drinking red wine, however, the intense açaí berry contains as much as 33 times more anthocyanins than grapes! See how Forté is the most powerful açaí drink on the market!
Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity at first may sound like a complicated scientific term, but really it's very simple. The "ORAC method" is a procedure of measuring the antioxidant potency in foods and dietary supplements. When a food or supplement is being measured for antioxidant potency by the ORAC method, a number value is assigned. The higher the number, the stronger the protection! Ronald Prior, a scientist who helped devise the ORAC test, recommends that people consume at least 3,500 ORAC units a day. Forté has over 29,000 ORAC units per bottle! That's more than double the antioxidant protection than Mona Vie® bottle for bottle!
Continue your quest for the healthiest lifestyle possible with New Vision's Forté. When compared to other leading açaí drinks, our formulation provides the strongest concentration of anthocyanins, highest ORAC value and a world of health benefits. This isn't a great product! It's just another MLM company DUMBING down the ACAI berry to make it taste good for the Americans! Has ANYONE heard or has tried GENESIS TODAY's ACAI 100? Its PURE 100% ACAI and thats it! And it comes in a 32oz bottle for about $32. This is the only ACAI I'll drink.

With some of online research I found several things to answer your question.
1- Mona Vie has 14% Acai per bottle. So basically 1/8 of the bottle is pure Acai.
2- the Acai used is from the OptiAcai freeze dried patented process. 1,026.9 ORAC
Note - All the high ORAC values stated are from this process. Frozen and spray dried versions have ORAC in the 150 range.
3- do not discount the OTHER ingredients in Mona Vie. They are not as high profile but equally as important. Look up Lychee, Goji, Aronia (black chokeberry), Acerola, Bilberry, Blueberry etc.
Think of sitting down for a meal and eating ONLY ONE thing. A meal of only Banana's will fill you up and give you lots of potassium and a few other things but you do not get the full range of nutrients etc your body needs from eating a diverse meal.
3- Acai is very high in SOME antioxidants (yes there are many types) but low in a few others. Goji, Aronia, Blueberry, Lychee etc... fills that gap. You get the full spectrum of antioxidants, vitamins, flavenoids etc. AND you get the Ester fatty acids, Omega 3-6-9 AND you get the Natural plant glucosamine with the Active version of Mona Vie.
4- they add Banana's to Mona Vie not so much because it's a super food but to make some of the more astringent (sour), very healthful berries (like Aronia- Black Chokeberry) easier to take.
5- in your 4 ounces per day you get, your recommended daily allowance of Fruits. Do you eat 5 servings of fruit EVERY DAY? I sure didn't and I live in a fruit growing area. You get convenience. Do you buy a 1-2 coffee a day or even one of the expensive, fancy coffee's? It's the SAME COST.
Compare the costs. Estimate how much coffee you will need for the month. Then go into the store and buy a gift card for the months supply. Then use ONLY that card to buy your coffee. Which is more expensive? Which gives you your energy boost and is healthier?
Cheers Rick

I won a free bottle of Mona Vie Acai in a raffle a month or so ago. The people at the booth reminded me of those stands at the mall where people try to sell ridiculous products by claiming they do amazing things. Regardless, the drink tastes good and contains a lot of fruit and vitamins. Does it have the healing benefits its salespeople claim? I can't say for sure. I don't drink it often and I'm doing just fine. I would drink it for the taste, not for its claimed cures.

I have spent some time on the Mona Vie site this morning and it looks like it's more than "just a product." It's a way of life -- it's focused around establishing a pyramid scheme type of sales force with rabidly defensive sales folks trying to sell a very expensive product. The newsletter describes married-couples and singles achieving "blue diamond" status -- it sounds eerily familiar, like Amway or so many other similar sales schemes.
It does not appear that Mona Vie is available in retail locations - you have to purchase it through a sales rep. Based on their passionate discourse on the subject, it appears that Tyler and F are both sales reps -- and SustainLane site policy requires them to identify their affiliation and they haven't yet done that.
Further - the Mona Vie site does not show any list of ingredients for any of their products. When I visit the website of a company that manufactures and distributes something, I expect to see nutritional facts and ingredients. I don't buy mystery food.
Why hide this information, Mona Vie?
Personally, I'll take my antioxidants from raw cacao powder and nibs and skip the fancy wine bottle fashioned stuff I have to buy through energetic high-pressure sales folks.

Monavie is the best nutritional beverage- it breaks down to only $4.50 per day 2 oz in the am and 2 oz in the pm- when the product is taken in two servings it stays in the body to help the body heal itself. It is only 130 a case of 4 large bottles- all of the 19 fruits are used to make the blend (peels seeds skins etc.) Acai berry is the first fruit listed and is Opti Acai freeze dried to preserve the nutritonal level over the other so called juice companies. Monavie does not have to compare its juice to other companies because it stands alone in quality- you pay for what you get and you get some powerful nutrition and antioxidants in the 19 fruits blend. The other juices really do not taste as good.
People how can you put a price on your health- if you want health prevention and to be proactive in your health then get Monavie if you do not care then drink the other brands out there- if you pay nothing you will get nothing !

I went to a Monavie meeting and became hooked and wanted to get started in the Monavie business not only for my health and to get the health benefits of this VERY nutritious berry BUT I was doing some research on Monavie and the Acai Berry. I came across ANOTHER Acai juice except this one is different and better. Its called Total Health Organic Acai Juice. What is the difference between Monavie and Total Health?
Monavie:
1. Monavie is a VERY NUTRITIONAL DRINK BUT....... its EXPENSIVE! Its hard on your wallet. $45 a bottle, $180 a case, over 300 for 2 cases(8 bottles). Talk about emptying your wallet.....
2. The bottles are small for the money you spend. The bottle is only 25oz and if you have to take it 2 times a day. So if taken correctly then the bottle will last a week for ONE person.
3. Monavie really does not put out there how much of the Acai is in the bottle or how much you are getting per serving. From what I have heard, it is only 15-20% and thats not that much. I mean we buy Monavie because of the Berry. We want the nutritional benefits from the Acai Berry. The other fruits are important but dont even begin to compare to the health benefits from the Acai Berry.
4. The distribution is a good idea BUT you gotta know people. Not everyone can afford Monavie so you gotta make sure you your sharing this product with people that you KNOW can afford it. This business is a gamble. When you hand out a bottle of Monavie you are giving them essentionaly $45 dollars. If they dont care for it or dont see a need to become a distributor, you just lost money.
Vs.
Total Health
1. Total Health is easy on your wallet and you get discounts if you buy 2 bottles. If you decide to buy just one bottle, it will cost you $25. If you decide to buy 2 or more bottles, each bottle after 2 bottles will cost you $19.95. If you spend over $99.00 then your shipping will cost you $5 bucks . If you spend $150 dollars your shipping will be FREE! Talk about saving mon

(NewsTarget) New research appearing in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry has found
that although the Amazonian acai berry has the highest antioxidant content of any food, certain
commercial processing methods may strip the fruit of much of its nutrition. Two studies led by Alex Schauss from AIBMR Life Sciences -- along with colleagues from the U.S.Department of Agriculture, the University of California and other institutions -- examined the antioxidant properties of OptiAcai-brand freeze-dried acai fruit pulp and skin powder, as measured by the powder's oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC).
Schauss and his team found that the OptiAcai product had a 1026.9 ORAC score, compared to an
ORAC score of 155 for other commercially available freeze-dried acai samples. "What mystifies me is that the acai products we tested in the commercial marketplace had a fraction of the antioxidant activity reported in our paper for OptiAcai," Schauss said. The OptiAcai product also demonstrated "extraordinarily high" peroxyl scavenging activity -- the highest of any food researched so far -- as well as high superoxide scavenging activity. According to Schauss, the ability of acai berries to halt the formation of damaging free radicals could have profound implications for treatment of a wide range of diseases. Schauss says that although the OptiAcai product was impressive in its antioxidant content, not all acai products available on the market are as effective. "We believe there are many reasons for the lower ORAC values of various acais that have been on the market for some time," Schauss said. "First, freeze-drying is superior to spray drying or air
drying in retaining phytochemicals and nutrients, but more expensive. We believe that other
suppliers have not considered the issue of enzymatic degradation of the fruit." Much of the acai shipped from Brazil to the United States or Europe is sent in large frozen blocks that fail to prevent nutritional degredation,

hello my question is if monavie juice is so strong in antioxidants why do you have to take 2 ounces in the morning and the afternoon when other juices like zambroza you only need a 1/2 ounce in morning and afternoon.to me it makes it sound like the monavie is not a strong as everyone says it is.also monavie uses the whole fruit where as zambroza uses extracts.our vitamins use extracts not the whole fruit or vegitable.
just my opinion if this monavie juice is so great why are you taking more than the competitors on the market.

the mona vie company does NOT list the amount of the acai berry in the product they sell, so you do NOT know that the concentration of the acai berry that is used is more then anyone else's. Also the company does NOT state that the berry is freezed dried within hours of or even the same day as it was picked...get your fact's straight before talking crap out of your butt...

I am a customer of Monavie. This company uses organic and wildcrafted VINE RIPENED fruit. Yes, the price is high, however they use a higher concentration of Acai than other brands out there. Also, they have a patented process of freeze drying the Acai berry w/in hours of picking. It is scientifically proven to have higher amounts of antioxidants and phytonutrients than the costco versions. Before you bash a company for its pricing, you may want to look into it's research and development. When you go cheap, you get cheap. Look at ingredients of these cheaper versions...Acai is usually near last on the list or not even there, plus all the high fructose corn syrup. YUCK.

Recently I discovered a company that is called Monavie Acai. Although this product is sustainably harvested I feel that they are being dishonest with their customers. They are selling Acai juice which is exactly like Bossa Nova, Sambazon, or Zola for $45-50 in a wine bottle. Had I not lived in Brazil and eaten and drank real Acai in its purist form I might have been taken for this dishonest form of direct marketing that this Salt Lake City company has created. I completely support their work in rain forest conservation but I feel that fair trade/sustainable businesses should feel an ethical obligation to offer fair prices to their customers. I will continue to drink other brands that sell for a fraction of the price!!
