Insulated skylight

Now you can have daylight AND good insulation. Nanogel.com makes insulation gel that is translucent, and has an insulation value around R-8 per inch. A translucent wall or skylight can have an insulation value of R-15, that's MUCH better than a typical R-3 window that's called "energy efficient" (higher R-values are better). The gel is put into finished windows, skylights, roof panels and wall panels by companies like kalwall.com, wascoproducts.com, duo-gard.com and cptsystems.com. In renovation or new construction, you can keep some windows that have good views, and replace others with insulated nanogel windows that you can't see through.
