or yummy raw organic coconut oil? Which tastes better? Which is more likely to be tolerated by more people? I prefer olive oil or coconut oil on my toast, please.
To be fair, Earth Balance does taste most like butter of all margarines. It is dairy-free -- but it has a lot of highly processed soy which makes it difficult for people with an allergy or reaction to soy.
Soy products like Earth Balance are very highly processed -- refining and concentrating nutrients into toxins. Monitor the amount of soy you eat -- and be careful of refined soy products because they may be providing you with more than you bargained!

I will have to say that of all they butter and margarine substitutes I've tried, Earth Balance Natural Butter Spread is the best I've had, so far. It's good for more than just spreading on my toast. I use it when I saute vegetables, and now when baking. I made a batch of The Cravings Place chocolate chunk cookies this afternoon, using this buttery spread. The cookies came out better than I expected and held their shape. They didn't spread out into thin oily rounds, like cookies do when using all butter or using some of the other margarine-like substitutes. This non-hydrogenated spread is made with 100% expeller-pressed oils from soy, palm, fruit, pianola and olive, in that order. It's also 100% vegan, and free of GMOs, trans fats, lactose and gluten. Another product created with the intent to give consumers a food product that can help control cholesterol.
