Bamboo-zled

I bought these bamboo socks yesterday. The bamboo fiber is supposed to be more sustainable than other synthetic fibers made from petroleum. I peeled off the price tag today on the tag to discover that these socks are 29% polyester. Bamboo woven with gasoline, huh? Great. In addition, these socks are made in Korea, so that means it took a lot of gas for them to get here. Looks like a case of green washing to me. The socks are basic, thin, black, comfortable. I haven't noticed any "high moisture absorbancy" yet, like bamboo is purported to possess. The price was low, so maybe I'm getting what I pay for.
