MMMM New Leaf
New Leaf has it all. The deli has great sandwiches and a great variety of prepared foods to fit any craving you might encounter at lunch. The store features an excellent meat department, and their produce is way better than the Trader Joe's located a block away. They feature a large amount of local produce on their shelves.
They are a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it, and probably the best place downtown to shop for food outside of Trader Joe's. I believe their entire heating and cooling system is specially designed to not use any toxic chemicals.
Check them out next time you're in Santa Cruz.
