I met Lorraine Kerwood, founder of Next Step Recycling, a couple years ago, when she spoke at a business luncheon in Eugene about the ReUse Store. She has tremendous passion and energy!
Next Step Recycling has become a burgeoning community, non-profit service organization with "20 employees, 21 volunteer staff, guidance of 14 Lane County Master Recyclers, and hundreds of volunteers".
I've been to the ReUse store, where volunteers and staff have repaired and resold thousand upon thousands or electronic gadgets and equipment, making it more affordable for those will low income. For an extensive list of acceptable donation items, visit Next Step Recycling online. Their services also include business and residential recycling, technical services, a computer gifting program, education, job skill training, and fundraising.
Lorraine, and Next Step Recycling have received ongoing recognition and numerous awards for their contribution to the community.
