Best Butter
I really enjoy a good slice of bread with fresh butter. Horizon organic no salt butter is the closest thing to churning butter yourself. Smooth and creamy, yet not too heavy, Horizon organic butter is the perfect accompaniment to bread, rolls, and other baked goods.

After a lifetime of growing up on margarine, the worst of all butter-substitutes, I rebelled in college by switching to regular butter. At first it was Land O' Lakes, which was a vast improvement, but slowly I changed my mind into going organic. A biology teacher of mine spent most of his lectures speaking of the horrors of most of the foods Americans ate instead of teaching us about asexual reproduction or the human genome. The supermarket by my apartment carried a limited amount of organic products, organic butter being one of them. At first I was hesitant--I had switched over to organic milk easily enough but it took awhile to adapt to the texture of the yogurt. So I bought the Horizon organic butter and one simple morning I spread it on a piece of toast. This was the best piece of toast I had ever had. It was like I had never before in my life tasted butter. The taste was much more sweet and creamy than the butter I was used to. I quickly toasted another piece of bread so I could eat more. After that, I immediately called my boyfriend, something of a food connesuer, to rave about the butter. "You have to try it," I told him. "It's better than European butter!" Later that night I force feed him a piece of buttered toast while indulging in more myself. He agreed that it was the best butter he had ever had. If it were socially acceptable, or if I weren't concerned about my weight, I would have probably started eating the butter straight, sans bread.
