cows that don't really have access to pasture
On paper, it looks really good that Horizon cows have "access to pasture" but the truth is that almost all of them don't even know how to leave and access the pasture. So they stay penned up, feeding upon high-calorie grains and not getting out and getting any exercise. Horizon has come under some flack for this, and rightfully so.
Anyway, it's good to buy them if you have no other options and you're at Safeway or something. However, it's always better to buy Organic Valley Co-op or Clover or milk that comes from a dairy near you.
This half and half is all right, but I only buy it if I have to. It is readily available in Safeways and Wal-Mart, for example, which in some ways is a good thing.
