There are tempehs I don't care much for, but Surata Tempeh is consistently, exceptionally good! Surata tempeh has a long shelf life (in the refrigerator, up to a month), and freezes well. I stock up to have a variety on hand, especially for those times I need a quick and easy meal before our B&B guests arrive. On the back of the tempeh package you will find delicious recipes; check for many more online. The co-mingling of textures and flavors are absolutely terrific.
Surata's "Indian Feast" is a blend of their Curry Lentil Tempeh and cubes potatoes cooked to a golden brown. To this you add cashews, apple, onion, carrot, celery, garlic, ginger, coriander, peas, green beans, raisins, cauliflower, cumin, curry, garam marsala, and vegetable broth. This fragrant and spicy dish is served ona bed of rice.
I hope listing this banquet of ingredients 'tempehs' you to try it, if you haven't already!
[Tempeh ingredients: organic non-GMO soybeans, water, land organic: lentils, rice, millet, vinegar, herbs, spices, and tempeh culture].
