Heavensent Shortening
Spectrum is the only shortening I have found that is both vegetarian and soy-free. Granted, palm oil is not the most low fat option but again, we're talking about fat. I've used this in baking recipes and it performs really well. It's non-hydrogenated and trans-fat free.
Even Chef Eric at Millennium uses Spectrum Shortening!
