I'm kind of kidding, but zinggggggggggggggg, is it just me, or does the mint extract ring on your palate like a Tibetan bell long after you've eaten this chocolate?
The mint extract is a little strong, in my opinion, overpowering, almost as if it's hiding a slightly inferior waxy chocolate beneath its flavoring agency.
Still, not bad, you know, it's still better than a Hershey's bar. Or maybe I'm just an utterly smug snob.
Oh, no wait, wait, wait, I just freakin' love chocolate.

It's cool this chocolate is organic. But it's not the best tasting. I don't think the mint is as pepperminty as it could be, and the chocolate is kind of waxy. I think there are better mint chocolates out there, like endangered species.
It's also good to mix mint extract in chocolate chip cookie recipes. Random I know, but tasty.
I just went and read the label for this - it says the cocoa beans are grown in the dominican republic but the chocolate is made in switzerland... como what? The program in the Dominican Rep. is some special thing, but why ship it to Switzerland? Maybe I misunderstood, I hope so.
How can anyone go wrong with mint + choccies? I really liked this mint chocolate. It's the best pickmeup I could find around the office on a late Friday afternoon. Well, not that sad. I did go back for more though. Fattening! (one serving, half a bar, gives you 45% of your government RDA of satty fatties)
Although it's not certified fair-trade by TransFair in Oakland, the wrapper claims it's a fairly-priced co-op exchange. See www.yacao.com

I usually love mint chocolate, but I think I'm getting pickier because of all the great choices out there. the mint crisps actually taste sorta unnatural to me. And while this one is organic, it's not doing as much for the community - that they say on the packaging - than the other small organic chocolate brands out there.
