Bad Business

I have been a customer of Peggys for two years. I have bought many different items throughout this time and as of recently a bottle of Bully Hill red wine on my birthday. I stopped in while I was in the area to grab a soda and as I was paying for it the associate working told me they cant accept cards for purchases under 5.00. So I was kind of excited to buy the wine. I opened it for dinner that night to find that it was spoiled.Even though it is quit a long distance to their location, I returned to the store and was told to come back at a later time and talk to the owner. Upon my return, there were more than enough associates present to tell me that Lee was busy on the phone, and would be ALL AFTERNOON.
Since they refused to let me see the great man behind the curtain, I decided to try to talk to the marionettes up front, and let them know that this practice of avoidance is unfair and that loyal customers should be treated better. I questioned their lack of emotion as they even berated the wine I had bought.
"If you worked in the wine industry then you should know better than to buy Bully Hill wine anyway." assoc. snidely
"Oh really and why is that?"~me
"Because it is terrible wine"~snickering.
"Then why would you sell a product you don't like?" ~me
By this time, I was actually upset over a 13 dollar bottle of wine, and felt that it was a slap in the face that the OWNER wouldn't even come talk to me, and it was even more disheartening that I shop there frequently and returned twice to discuss this particular matter. Did I forget to say that the bottle was still FULL? I tried to phone the owner, since he was apparently attached to it all afternoon. I once again was informed that this wasn't their issue and that i should call Bully Hill and speak to them directly. After explaining to the manager on the phone that I PAID them the money, she kept trying to alot blame elsewhere. i will not return to this business, and regretfully so.
