Dairy-free organic ice cream.
BuyI'm lactose intolerant and I've tried a lot of different dairy-free ice creams. Some are beany tasting, some are icy instead of creamy, some are too overly sweet, and some have a funny aftertaste. But Purely Decadent has been consistently delicious, rich and creamy, with every new flavor they make. And while I love the soy varieties (key lime pie and chocolate obsession are amazing), their new coconut milk line is even more incredible. With flavors like mocha almond fudge and chocolate peanut butter swirl, it's hard to decide which one to buy. And they're gluten-free, too! If you're looking for a really delicious alternative to dairy-based ice cream, they are the best I've ever tasted.

I adore Purely Decadent ice cream. The Blueberry Cheesecake is one of my favorite flavors, not to mention the Key-Lime Pie. And their coconut milk ice creams are to die for! The Chocolate is so creamy, it's like eating dairy-free gelato. Kudos to Turtle Mountain for making it a whole lot easier to be vegan.

Couldn't stand the Blueberry Cheesecake flavor.
Chunks of "crust" were hard as a ROCK.
I did enjoy the whole blueberries swirled throughout the ice cream but the the "cheesecake" flavor was lacking.
It was more blueberries and cream with rock hard chunks of blah.

Oh my goodness - this is so delicous and almost totally guilt free. It is all organic and uses agave instead of sugar. A very short list of ingredients - only about five - which is always a good sign! My daughter has a milk intolerance and I try to avoid sugar but whenever we have friends over they bring ice cream and it is hard to keep her from having when everyone else is. Now, we get Purely Decadent which she absolutely loves. I also like it because I try to stay on a lower cab diet and all the low card ice creams are just poor substitutes for the real thing in taste and texture. I can eat Purely Decadent and it is only 14 net cards for a serving and it is as good or better than regular ice cream. Definitely more creamy!

This is probably the most tasty soy-based ice cream on the market -- it is rich and creamy and full of who-knows-what -- it's not organic but it is a high quality delicious product. Unfortunately, it is so rich in soy protein isolates that I can't tolerate it -- tragic because the "Cherry Nirvana" is really incredibly yummy.
If you can eat soy and not dairy, give this ice cream a try -- you'll be astonished at how rich and tasty it is.

I tried this for the first time two weeks ago at a vegan cooking class. I was a bit hesitant to eat soy ice cream but this got me hooked by the second spoonful! I bought some that night. My 2 year old thinks it is milk based ice cream! Very smooth flavor! Love it!

A lot of people think going vegan means doing without. Well, you can still have delicious desserts without animal cruelty. Turtle Island makes a line of vegan desserts called Soy Delicious. There are quarts of organic ice creams, pints of Purely Decadent flavors (such as Turtle Trails or Cherry Nirvana), and fruit-sweetened pints of dairy-free desserts. Unless you are a cow, you don't need products made of cows' milk. I am a huge fan of the Neapolitan brand, drizzled with vegan chocolate syrup. I also love the Turtle Trails and Cherry Nirvana, the latter of which is a replica of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia. Dump dairy and try Soy Delicious ice creams. It's a decadent, dairy-free treat.

It's vegan, but you won't know. This is the best ice cream on the planet for animals, earth, and taste buds. I bring it as a dessert to all of my animal eating friend's homes and they rave about how good it is. Just make sure it is the "Purely decadent" line. I don't even know why Soy Delicious has other lines of vegan ice cream, because once you find "purely decadent" you won't go back to anything else.
Happy Eating!

This soy ice cream is a fabulous alternative to dairy ice cream. It has generous chunks of cookies and smooth soy ice cream. Most soy vanilla ice cream has a weird after-taste, but this soy ice cream is amazing.
The Soy Delicious Purely Decadent ice cream is the best non-dairy ice cream ever! My favorite flavor is the Peanut Butter Zigzag (chocolate peanut butter ice cream), but the Turtle Trails (vanilla, caramel, chocolate covered toffee bits) is also pretty awesome. Even my friends who won't touch anything soy will actually eat it without hesitation. I highly recommend it to anyone who can't eat dairy but can't live without ice cream!
Go soy ice cream!!

Jenn, Don't know if this is a recent addition to the range but our local Jimbos had a Soy Free version made with coconut milk. That is the one we got (chocolate) and it is great. more »
