Quinoa Flakes
Quinoa is a very versatile whole grain alternative for a wheat/gluten free diet. Quinoa flakes are quickly made into a nutritious breakfast cereal. I like to add some honey, cinnamon, nuts, ground flax and almond or soy milk for a filling breakfast. I recently had a little canned pumpkin leftover and mixed that in. A nice fall taste treat!

Ancient Harvest Quinoa Flakes
These tasty flakes can be used anywhere oatmeal is used. They are quick cooking and make a nutritious breakfast. Great for anyone with wheat and gluten food allergies. On the Weight Watchers points program, it is only 2 points when cereal is made as directed with 1/3 cup flakes. The bulk price is a good buy. Since Quinoa is a complete protein, it is an excellent choice for food storage.

In 90-Seconds
I needed a nutritious breakfast alternative that was gluten-free, so my kids suggested I try quinoa (keen-wa) . Ancient Harvest makes an easy-to-cook, organic, hot cereal flake product that you can fix on the stove top or microwave, lickity-split.
Loaded with protein, minerals, calcium and iron, quinoa is a good source for essential nutrients. Easily digestible, parent's can whip this cereal up for their babies and school kids, too. It takes 90 seconds. I like my hot quinoa cereal lightly sweetened with XyloSweet, or with brown rice syrup, topped with fresh fruit and chilled rice milk.
Quinoa is supposed to be great for making cookies, muffins, pancakes, waffles, and breads, as well. I think I'll try making cookies next.
Photo Note: "In 1982 the Quinoa Corporation brought the first 50 lbs of this unknown grain into the U.S. to share with the natural foods industry. Since that time, we have spread the word of this amazing grain to all corners of the earth."
