No Sweat Chuck taylors

If you swear by converse all stars, but then suddenly are shocked to learn that the company isn't up to your sustainable and social responsibility standards, but sill want that awesome style, the no sweat substitutes are a pretty good replacement. Die Hard converse fans can tell the difference, and if you're planning on doing a lot of walking, you might want to go wear something else that day, but they are comfortable shoes and have the classic look you're craving

Doing Good Is OK On Your Feet

I have owned 2 pairs of No Sweat sneakers - Pink originals and MoJo Red, both high-tops, and my partner has the black low-tops. Medea Benjamin is involved in this project and I like her work. Overall I am pleased with them. They are comfortable for daily wear as long as I do not have to do a ton of walking. They took a little while to break in and both pairs I have had ware in the same place - the heel. My current red ones still have the water-resistance of the soles and I have had them about a year, but I haven't been wearing them every day for the last few months. The inside of the heel, however, has started to deteriorate and I can see the honeycomb breaking through. I would not recommend them if you spend your whole day on your feet or do a ton of walking every day. But I believe the same problem exists in ALL of these sorts of flat-soled, low support, simple high-tops. Overall, I recommend them over Converse or Ked or whatever because they are produced in a much more responsible manner.
