Maldon sea salt crystals are pyramids of heaven

The Maldon Crystal Salt Company is renowned throughout the world for its pyramid-shaped sea salt crystals. Many chefs in the Bay Area choose Maldon sea salt for their cooking. My wife turned me on to this salt, and I've never looked back. In fact, I'll never look at salt the same way again.

Created through traditional panning methods, these sea salt crystals are little pyramids of heaven that enhance foods with a sprinkle, bringing out the flavors in an almost impossible combination of flavors. Imagine the best camera snapping photographs that make the minutiae come alive. Well, this is exactly what Maldon sea salt does to food.

And you don't need to use it for dissolving. It's more for sprinkling on, say, a bagel and lox with dill and red onion, or maybe some home-made ravioli.

You can get it at your local co-op, most likely. It's quite expensive, relatively speaking, but well worth it. We get ours at Rainbow in the Mission.
