As a woodworker, carpenter of thirty some years, working in the high end San Diego market, I have had the pleasure of working with David. He is a good person, hard working with an eye for detail, and a hard to find dedication to and delight in his interest/trade. I collect small pieces of exotic woods from the shop where I work and Dave is the recipient of those collectibles, because I know he will use every last scrap and make beautiful things with them. I feel content with the knowledge that he will honor the beauty and rarity of the woods, giving human value to the time and effort that these trees put out to grow. Feel lucky to have him put his energy and spirit into any project that you have.

I used Seguin Woodworks to restore a child's rocking chair that was over 100 years old. The care and craftsmanship that went into the chair was excellent. Right down to fabric selection and cleaning. The customer service is among the best I have dealt with. It is nice to speak to a real person!! Will use them often in the future! I would also like to add that the chair was shipped back to me from California to South Jersey with no damage and in a timely fashion.

Excellent products
It's amazing what David has done with some pieces of old wooden palettes and transformed them into beautiful unique art pieces that are functional and green. Each piece is lovingly made with much care and skill. A great idea.

Beautiful Work!
I have only great things to say about Seguin Woodworks. All of the pieces that I have seen are absolutely beautiful. Not only are they beautiful but David is thoughtful about his footprint every step of the way. This includes the creative places David acquires the wood he uses, to the manufacturing and finishing of all of his work. Every piece that I have seen is one of a kind and attracts peoples eye. David also made and installed one of the most beautiful wood counter tops that I have ever seen! He is a pleasure to work with and I recommend Seguin Woodworks again and again!

I have seen many of David's pieces. His work shows a love of the craft and a skill that is uncommon in todays world of IKEA junk. All of the work I have seen is made with the love that only someone who understands the nature of wood can give. These are not mass produced pieces! Each one is unique and truly a work of art.

Super Green
I was really impressed that he uses old crates and wood from just about anything! Then he turns them into beautiful works of sturdy art! The attention to detail and the materials used are what I liked the most. All the lines are smooth and and well thought out, but all his work that I have seen still has a cozy home made feel instead of a cold industrial feel. I would highly recommend this buisness to anyone who is interested in green furniture, and gorgeous funiture!

High-End Woodworking With Recycled Woods
We had the wonderful pleasure of meeting David, of Seguin Woodworks, when he was working on his home in Eureka. At first, I did not know what to think of this customer asking to go to the back warehouse to see what pallets we had stored 'back there'. Then one day, David brought in a table that looked like it was from a high-end catalog. When we asked where he got the wood to make the table, I could not believe his response. The table was from the palettes we were going to throw out! We still have the table in our shop and love to tell that story to our customers. Since then, we have called David several times to pick up our scrap pallets and he ceases to amaze us with the incredible pieces he brings back for us to admire. Tables, bars, bookshelves, cutting boards, toy chests, and stools are just some of the beautiful pieces we have seen. Not only are David's pieces made from recycled and reclaimed woods, but all the finishes he uses are safer, non-toxic alternatives than the conventional finishes that are typically used by woodworkers.

Master of the element of wood
This man can do anything good with wood. And do it well. His creations are gallery-worthy and definitely deserve a spot in your home. Not only is he a master craftsman, he's a great guy to get to know and spend time with.

More than just reclaimed wood furniture....
Seguin Woodworks is more than just furniture building. David has crafted everything from cutting boards, to christmas ornaments, to lighting fixtures from wood scraps and paletts. He has also done several remodels on historic homes and buildings in the Humboldt area. His woodworking practices are sustainable from the safe finishes he uses to the recycling of the sawdust in his shop-- it makes great garden cover and helps with composting. SeguinWoodworks.com is hosted on 100% wind powered servers. Careful thought has been put into the sustainability of many of the aspects of this business.

Giving wood a second chance
David has found a magnificent way of converting wood that would otherwise be discarded, into objects that will be handed down from one generation to the next. Made with a true craftsman's eye for quality, his furniture and wood products are both unique and beautiful. You will not be disappointed with anything you purchase from Seguin Woodworks.

I've known Dave since he was in elementary school and I can testify to his integrity, his work ethic, his love of nature and his dedication to the perservation of our environment. While attending his wedding last year I got the chance to see some of his work and I can certainly add my kudos to the first two posters Scott and Chad. I wish him every success with his new business.

Great work!
I first met David on a train in Europe, we struck up a conversation and began talking about life, love of travel, and our mutual love of the earth and conservation. He told me he was a woodworker that used only recycled wood, i was immediately intrigued. After my return home, i ordered a small table from him...I love it and use it everyday. I was surprised at how sturdy it was, being that it was made from old recycled wood. Very satisfied, overall. I just wish he lived closer to me so i could see David again and thank him personally for the great work he is doing.

Beautiful Woodwork from Reclaimed Woods
David's pieces are a sight to behold. Locally made from reclaimed woods - everything from exotic overseas wood shipping palettes to local downed trees - David's pieces are classy and sharp. His aesthetic sensibility really allows him to make pieces that fit the space he's working with. By mixing different woods and using natural finishes, his pieces are striking in their natural beauty. If you're looking to fill your home with non-corporate, sustainable furniture made by a local artisan, David's definitely your go-to guy - not to mention he's a pleasure to work with!
