Residential Wind Turbine, Mono Tower Kit.
As the founder and President of a start-up alternative energy company, I have read many of these reviews in-order to provide a better product and customer service. Our company will be the manufacturer, installer, and offer maintanance and warranty services. Our system as it is now uses both electronic and mechanical over-speed cntrols and does not rely solely on software. The existing system has proven it self through many test's. It is our desire to provide our customers with a superior product, outstanding customer service, and affordability as soon as the system R&D is completed.
We just had this installed May 2009. So far it has worked great. No complaints and cool software comes with this product. The dealer we got it from has been very helpful and very knowledgeable with the product. Would recommend this to any home that is suitable for a turbine. Will keep everyone updated as time goes by to see how it holds up during the long subzero winter months in the upper peninsula.

Dear Southwest Windpower,
I am so tired of dealing with your product, lack of tech support, lies and the humiliation this has caused me in my community. There was big fanfare with a full front page article with me and the turbine in the Rocksprings Record newspaper (article titled "Holley installs commercial wind turbine in Edwards County") now it and me is just a joke in town.
Here is the email I got April 28, still NO KIT.
Hi Wesley,
There were still no kits built into Oracle as of this morning, so I had one entered. I just picked released the order and it’s in shipping right now.
Sincerely,
Ross
I have sent emails asking what the status of shipping and NO REPLY
It is obvious that customer and product support does not matter to your company and I would like to send the product back, it is of no use to me and is a $15,000.00 EYE SORE!
Here are what your other customers are saying about your product.
Wind Power Disaster, March 24, 2009
"We purchased and installed our Skystream 3.7 in October 2007. The first unit was shipped in non-operational condition with a bad inverter. The replacement unit functioned but for less than 2 months. Southwest Windpower failed to respond to calls and dealer inquiries for over 7 months, but finally after an additional 3 months, shipped inverter which was installed in October 2008. Unit failed completely after less than 4 months. Southwest Windpower has refused to return calls and had to be contacted through registered mail. Unit has now been up for 17 months and has not functioned for 11 months. I would never buy or recommend products from Southwest Windpower."
I am dealing with the same situation this customer has had to experience my unit only worked for a month and a half and I have been given the run around ever since. My unit has been down now for almost TWO MONTHS!!!!
This was a costly investment and what do have to show for it......NOTHING!!! a $15,000.00 EYE SORE!

Saltwater model is powder coated a nice sky blue color, the unit and the electronics are sealed from moisture and the bearings are stainless steel. The cost was just 400$ extra. I get a lot of dirt in the wind, it rains a bit here in Arizona and the day/night temp. extremes make for alot of condensation on metal objects. I guessing the unit will last longer and be more reliable. Time will tell.....
I have read extensively about these Sky Stream wind generator. If my husband and I could afford it we would already have purchased one. Here in MN we get plenty of wind and could put this to good use. My step son is a Master Electrician and he highly recommends these. If you have a bit of acreage and neighbors who don't mind, not to mention $30,000-40,000 extra you too could own one. I wish they would make them more budget friendly.

If you think about it, traditional means of generating electricity all aim for turning a turbine.
When coal is burned to make energy, it heats water which creates steam which turns a turbine.
When nuclear power is generated, a nuclear reaction is used to heat water to create steam to turn a turbine.
See a parallel here?
Wind power bypasses the old, inefficient, and pollutive methods to give clean, clear and free energy.
It also turns a turbine, but without the harmful byproducts of carbon emissions and nuclear waste.
Support your local wind power generators or anyone else for that matter investing in wind.

The Southwest Windpower Skystream 3.7 Wind Turbine is the latest in Residential Wind Power. It is specifically designed for Grid-Tie applications, which means that you could potentially sell excess electricity back to the electric company.
The Skystream 3.7 is a self-contained powerhouse, with all of the control circuitry built right in. All you have to do is find a nice clearing to put it in, mount it high enough to clear all nearby obstructions, hook it up, and you will be immediately generating free electricity. This can be done over a weekend with a couple of buddies.
Don't get me wrong, this thing is big, and it is heavy, but with a pick-up truck and the proper hardware for your tower, you will never have to climb a ladder or rent a cherry picker to raise it into the air.
Once up, it will generate enough electricity for a small family. Otherwise, it will go a long way toward reducing your electric bill.
