Real Goods Solar Mosquito Guard

I bought one of these solar mosquito guards from Real Goods when I was working in the wilderness in Alaska. I found it to be an effective, pesticide-free way of keeping the mosquitoes from feasting on me. Thanks Real Goods!

Mike Gallagher is an excellent consultant for the photovoltaic panel group. He is knowledgeable and has hands on knowledge. The additional REAL GOODS catalogue is the best one on the market.

Annoying sound

Here's the issue: Every so often, on warm nights, a mosquito gets in the house. Invariably, moments before passing into sleep, it alights on my girlfriend or myself. A bitter battle ensues: Lights go on. I get the spray bottle. She scrutinizes the walls and ceiling for the 'skeeter. After one, two, sometimes three efforts, we take it down. Triumph; Sleep. I thought the Solar Mosquito Guard would save us this middle-of-the-night unpleasantness. I had visions of turning this handy device on and vanquishing the little beasts. I was wrong. Alas, while the device is fine if you're not in listening range, our device emits a definitely audible, and quite annoying, sound--not unlike the final buzz of the bloodthirsty skeeter seeking a meal in the dark of our bedroom. I like the idea here, but don't like the result.
