MY new Favorite Moisturizer and Dry Skin Balm

I am completely biased about this product because I created it and own the company. But, I also know everything there is to know about it......
My new Super Dry Soother is a elegantly simple salve for dry skin. I designed it for Super Dry, rough, winter skin on the hands, feet and whole body. It is made of organic sunflower oil, beeswax, herbs and essential oils. There are only 8 ingredients.
We chose organic sunflower oil for its benefits as a barrier oil. In research on premies who were prone to infection, sunflower oil alone reduced skin infections by 41% (see a link to the research on our website). The herbs in this product were chosen for their properties of promoting circulation, treating injury and addressing dryness in the skin. We've included frankincense(the actual herb--not the essential oil), red peony root, rhubarb root and dandelion. It also has high grade essential oils of bergamot and lavender and smells lovely.
This product was designed as an alternative to all the goopy water-based or petroluem-based goopy moisturizers on the market. If you get dry skin in the winter or cracked hands and feet, we hope we'll be able to help you. If you do try it, please let us know by reviewing the product back here on Sustainlane.

Excellent moisturizer, easy to carry!

I prefer to use oil-based lotions to creams - they soak into my dry skin much better. I'm a bad vegan - I am not averse to bee products (my grandad was a beekeeper and I know that responsible custodianship of bees does not result in their death, detriment or inconvenience).

First - the scent of this product is great - frankincense is not a common scent for most lotions and it makes a rich, but not overpowering scent.

What I like about this product's format is that it is more of a solid form -- that means I can throw it in my gym bag without worrying about it spilling out all over the place if the lid isn't perfectly sealed. Being oil-based, it soaks into my skin more. If you find that it stays on the surface of your skin - use less and massage it in better -- it should go right into your dry skin with little residue or film (I have used oils for 10 years - way better & purer than creams).

EXACTLY what my elbows needed

This is a truly fantastic product. Just like Mike’s daughter, I too had terrible eczema as a baby, and dry skin ever since. While my dry skin made me the envy of all the other pimply kids in my High School, now that puberty has worn off I often find myself with terrible dry skin, especially come wintertime.

This product is a god-send. While other organic moisturizers work for most of my body, my elbows and the back of my arms (just below the triceps) are always red and itchy. I can honestly say that this is the first product I have ever tried that shuts off that itch almost immediately. Not to mention it smells like a spring garden. :)

There is one caveat. Due to the fact that this stuff (you can’t really call it a cream, maybe a balm?) is made almost entirely from natural oils, it is, understandably, very oily. This is not a problem for the parts of my body that need the moisture, but I found that if I rubbed it on my hands it left that kind of oily feeling. Not really a huge negative for me, just putting it out there.

Oh – did I mention it is organic and vegan-friendly?

Keep up the great work Mike!

AAAAAAH... Thanks for the clarification Jenn! I wasn't sure if beeswax counted as an animal product or not for vegans. Is honey a no-no too? more »

Hi Jenn and Adam-- Thanks for your reviews. I too was surprised when I first learned that beeswax is on the no-no lists for some vegans. I have to say I love honey and beeswax, but at the same time we are signers of... more »
