Film: The Cove

A powerful and effective piece of advocacy film.

Great flick. And, although Morton S went over the top to prove something, he did. McDonalds sucks.
Everybody knows fast food is bad, but how bad exactly is it? Well, this film leaves you with no doubt. It's another fun documentary about food that I can recommend highly.

In "Super Size Me," documentarian Morgan Spurlock sacrifices himself to relay a message that the United States' obesity epidemic is rooted in fast food. Over the course of one month, the otherwise healthy Spurlock gains nearly 25 pounds and is afflicted with a bevy of health problems, both physical and psychological. For thirty days, all the food he eats must come from McDonald's -- even water. Outside food is strictly forbidden, and he must "super size" his meal order whenever asked.
McDonald's lovers beware -- this film will make you steer clear of those ubiquitous golden arches forever.
Subsisting on an all fast food diet is akin to digging your own deep-fried-high-fructose-corn-syrup-coated grave, and those of us who have common sense know that. Unfortunately, there are still untold numbers of people who don't, as is evident from the law suits against fast food companies from plaintiffs in ill health who allege that they never knew that burgers and fries were unhealthy. There's no excuse for ignorance now. This movie does a great job of showing just how detrimental fast food is to your health.
