Fried + Sweet Potato = YUMx3

Potatoes and I go way back. I'm a big fan of all varieties of potatoes, but especially sweet potatoes. Sweet potato shoestring french fries are just about my favorite (non-chocolate & peanut butter) snack. For those days when I need a fried + sweet potato fix, Terra Chips delicious sweet potato chips fit the bill. Nothing ruins my day more than opening a bag and finding they were smashed in transport (boo!)

To build on Cris B's review of the chips, and the nutritional value of sweet potatoes, I will add the following excerpt (from http://www.foodreference.com/html/sweet-pot-nutrition.html)

The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), advises that the single most important dietary change for most people, including children, would be to replace fatty foods with foods rich in complex carbohydrates, such as sweet potatoes.

CSPI ranked the sweet potato number one in nutrition of all vegetables. With a score of 184, the sweet potato outscored the next highest vegetable by more than 100 points.

Of course, frying the hell out of them might mitigate some of the nutrition but every little bit helps to develop a taste for something good.

Terra-ific!

I love Terra Chips; they're all good, but I especially love their Sweet Potato chips, because not only do they taste great, but the sweet potato is more nutritious, more delicious than a regular potato. The sweet potato is an under-valued potato. Most Americans only think to cook and eat them during the holidays. Terra Sweet Potato chips are low in sodium, high in flavor, and are crispy, crunchy and light. The only other ingredients used are canola oil, and/or safflower oil, and/or sunflower oil.
