I am all for recycled...and even try to follow Sheryl Crow's one-square rule (TMI?)...but even the 2-ply of this TP is scratchy and disintegrates so easily! There has to be a better way to produce it. SG's products are usually so effective, but this just disappoints.
it works, but it's not exactly the 'soft quilted variety' for those with sensitive behinds. A little spendy too. I prefer the 100% recycled brand that Safeway carries, it's at least half the price and the same quality. However the local natural market is within walking distance so I do buy it in a pinch.

I think it serves it's purpose and since it is the only brand I know of, outside of TJ's....I guess it will have to work but it is a little spendy and all in all i am not a huge fan of 7th gen products.

Although it is more expensive I try to buy Seventh Generation toilet paper whenever I can. It is soft, but not in that way that some conventional toilet papers seem doused in chemicals to become so. It doesn't fall apart in your hand and isn't so thin that you have to use half a roll each time. I would like to echo a previous reviewers sentiments when I say that I appreciate the no-lint-left-behind qualities of this paper. Changing my toilet paper is a simple hassle-free way to help the environment.

i made up my mind- only using 100% recycled tp from now on. the 7th gen. singles (wrapped individualy)
have the most squares per roll + it's fine with me since it's all being flushed away! and in the kitchen i use the brown
paper towels for emergency use (otherwise cloth, that is reusable.) it makes a great gift basket filler to encourage
'newcomers' to the idea of recycled household paper goods.

You might find that you go through 7th Generation toilet tissue a bit faster -- the rolls are not as tightly wound as other brands, so they are lighter and softer (as opposed to some industrial TP rolls you might get at Costco). That is why you want to make sure you stock up - you never want to run out of TP (esp in a house with no paper towels or paper tissues). It's mostly recycled and it's pretty widely available -- and best of all, it's not brown and scratchy like some state park toilet paper.

This was the best "switch" I ever made.
Stopped using the conventional brands and feel so much better knowing my footprint is smaller for using this brand/product.

When I tried this product from my local coop, it looked like traditional toilet paper. After using it, I was a little disappointed. It felt like cheaper brands, but the price was higher end. It works, but I am going to keep looking.

It's the only stuff I buy. Besides the obvious benefits, it's one of the few brands that doesn't fall apart and leave clitty litter.

Seventh Gen. toilet paper is certainly not soft (it's not scratchy either) but it is soft on the environment. With a minimum of 80% post-consumer materials, this toilet paper is saving more than trees: water, energy, & landfill build-up.
It's a bit pricey but their web site has coupons available to download.

I agree with Lori H. I wouldn't buy toilet paper packaged in plastic when I can buy the Seventh Generation single rolls by the case with almost no plastic except for the tape used to seal the box.
Don't know why so many supposedly eco-friendly products are still wrapped in plastic.

Well I honestly can't say that we loved the Seventh Generation paper towels... in fact, due to our displeasure - we've now moved onto reusing cloth rags and towels and just avoiding paper towels altogether. Although I agree with the mission and message of the company, the product just seems too thick, too hard. The color is not pretty and looks to industrial sitting on our counter, not too mention the price seems substantialy higher than other brands.

I actually do not use paper towels or paper napkins at home, but have not found a way around using toilet paper yet! In any case, I love Seventh Generation for their mission and also the quality of their toilet paper. I also love that they are located in Vermont, where I live, so I get to support a local business and my toilet paper does not need to travel too far!

Not the softest stuff out there but it works. I like that it is alot of post consumer paper being recycled.

7th gen tp and paper towels are essential in our home. We compost the paper when finished, knowing that they not only did not harm the environment when produced, but will not when we return them to the earth.

These products work well and help reduce paper waste. I appreciate their dedication to giving back and reusing paper that has already entered the environment - hopefully we are saving trees!

College presents an opportunity to branch out beyond your local community and change the world. Slowly, I introduced my roommate to green, organic, and fair trade products such as seventh generation paper towels. Saving the world isn't a one person job.

My sister has been the recycler for years before me, it takes effort and responsibility. All of the reasons to buy this product is right on the packaging, after reading that how can anyone who's serious about living a healthy life and saving our natural resources opt for the 'soft, pretty, fragrant' brands? If the price is too much, or if the 'bulk order' hasn't arrived yet, well...even one purchase of recycled paper makes a significant difference-- Seventh Generation-everyone can help, so many posts here says so.

I have used these products from Seventh Generation for years and have no complaints about them. I appreciate the fact that they are made from recycled materials and that is why I started using them in the first place.
Not very exciting, I know -- paper towel. But if you've got to use it, and most of us do, every now and then, SG makes a completely sustainable line of paper towel. It's thick and rugged. It cleans well, though it may not be pretty or soft. It's slightly more expensive than your regular paper towel, but that's okay. SG is a company of great integrity, and it's worth keeping them in business.
