I tried them at the green festival, not bad, but I wasn't blown away. I'd like to try them again, once they open up a new shop on the north side. It's a great idea and clever way to bring vegan food to the masses.

Veggie Bites has impressed me over and over. All the food is delicious, and the price is competitive with other fast food restaurants. The names of the foods are a little hokey, such as the "Phili Cheese Steak" that is neither cheese, nor steak, but that does not mean it is not a good meal. If you can get over the silly names, it is a great place for a quick meal.

Chili dog was fantastic! Even my picky 14 year old ate it!

I tried Veggie Bite for the first time at the Green Festival. I got the buffalo chicken, and was pretty disappointed. The sauce wasn't really buffalo sauce at all, and it was really bland tasting. I've had vegan and vegetarian food before, and this was some of the worst that I've had

The few items that I have tried, at my wife's lead have been unusual and interesting. The introduction to these items will lead to further inquires. It is interesting to find items that you can indulge in and still be ECO-friendly.

By far the most popular booth at the Green Fest this year was Veggie Bites. At least for anyone who had kids.
I'd been wanting to try their sustaining stuff since I'd read about them in the Chicago Reader. Now was my chance.
The menu is junk-like food. Hot dogs, BBQ nuggets, Tacos... you get the idea. Kids aren't going to wait in line for lemon grass rice rice & braised tofu. Niether are people with the munchies.
I tried both the Taco and the BBQ nuggets. The taco didn't cop-out by being just beans. it had that good mouth-feel the a carefully considered variety of ingredients has.
The nuggets satisfied as well. Tofu or sietan, I'm not sure. Deep-fried, not crunchy, not chewy. Flavored on their own they were fine. Dipped in a thick tomatoey spicy BBQ sauce with the right spice of chili. They would by my choice to bring to a pot-luck and yell "A-Ha! You're eating Veggies!", They're appealing to all.

I did not think that the food was a very good representation of alternative meats. The Tacos were awful and awfully expensive. What kind of "veggie" place has no vegetables! Tacos belong with lettuce/tomato/salsa.

The food was great, the service was wonderful. This place was almost to popular with the long line though. It still was really nice to be able to find affordable vegetarian food!

If you like food with bleak taste and monotonous texture, this business is for you. The only highlight is the hot/emo serving staff. I never knew that chili was the same as a taco.

The food at Veggie Bite is to say the least.... gaseous. The main component of the food would have to be the beans. Ah, the beans. Thousands and thousands of beans, all piled into your one little taco. So many beans that it's really hard to keep them in the shell. In fact, at one point, I was forced to use unconventional means to consume the food.
And that returns me to my opening comment. At least it's vegan.
