Delicious organic dining
Venus serves local, organic and seasonal produce. They have great lighting and ambience inside but I seem to remember that the acoustics were a bit hard making it difficult to hear my friends at the table. The food is really lovely -- and mostly vegetarian, if not vegan, friendly.
There are so many options for good food in the Bay Area -- I have been to Venus 2-3 times, and I have always enjoyed the food but nothing has ever stood out in my memory as a super compelling reason to return.
I do recommend it -- if there is something on the menu that draws your attention, give them a go and let us know here how you enjoyed your dinner!

Good food, bad service.
Venus is definitely a gem if you are looking for a nice organic dinner in downtown Berkeley. The food is delicious and the drink selection is well-rounded. The food is five star quality and relentlessly organic and local (yay!)
The reason it did not get five stars, however, is because our server was unreasonably rude to my date after she decided that her ID must be fake (she is well past 21 by the way). She brought her a warm beer that we asked another server to exchange and then ceased to interact with my date at all, only asking me if I wanted refills or if the food was okay.
What gives? We paid a good chunk of change for this food, and a server should not ruin that experience.
I recommend the food, but I won't be going back.
