Outstanding!

One of the best gins I've ever had. Brilliant citrus dominates with the Juniper close behind. Fantastic nose and lingering finish makes this Gin a winner in my book.

Local and Sustainable Vodka, Gin and Whisky... From Wisconsin!??

Death's Door Spirits has been producing sustainable and local spirits for the past two years with growing success. The heart of the Gin, Vodka, and Whisky is a unique variety of hard red wheat which is organically grown on Washington Island in Door County, WI. Over 800 acres of wheat was certified organic in October of 2008 (one of the largest certifications in the state of Wisconsin). In addition to the wheat, all the botanticals (juniper berries, fennel, and coriander) for the gin are sourced locally from Wisconsin. In fact, a Juniper Picking Festival is held on Washington Island in November.

Some of the finest cocktail lounges in the Midwest, including the Violet Hour in Chicago serve Death's Door Spirits with pride. Many have stated that this Gin is what they believe to be the closest thing to a Pre-Prohibition Gin that is currently in production today. This slightly sweet gin does not overwhelm you with botanicals but provides a great crisp taste that mixes well in Aviation Cocktail, Martinez, Clover Club, and Last Word.

The company focuses on food pairings, pre-prohibition cocktails, and infusions. The website has a great deal of information include recipes, further information about the farmers involved, the process, and stories.

Death's Door Spirits can be found in fine establishments in Indiana, Kentucky, Seattle, Minnesota, New York, and Connecticut but distribution is mainly focused in Wisconsin and the greater Chicagoland area. Future expansion into several East and West Coast markets is expected in the near future.

Death's Door Gin was recently named Wine & Spirits Magazine's Top Gin for 2009. Congratulations Death's Door!

A Great Taste from the Great Lakes
