Hiking. It’s ok. I can handle this. I can hike and enjoy nature and look cute while being eco-friendly. I find the least ugly pair of shoes I can find on GreatOutdoors.com.
I get the Huckleberry because it’s cute and I like the name. The ‘Huckleberry’ also has plenty of earth-friendly components like mid-soles made with 15% recycled EVA material and something called “recycled Poliyoufoam” in the foot beds.
The information about this shoe reads like a guidebook for the eco-friendly newbie, like myself. Such as the “Vibram bouldering sole even has a special Ecostep compound made with up to 30% recycled rubber”.
Hmmm, recycled rubber, huh? Cool.
Even if my new “green man” doesn’t look at my feet, at least I know I’m making an effort to be more conscious.
Now I have to find some cute hiking clothes that are also Eco- friendly. Does this kind of thing even exist? I managed to find some sexy organic lingerie, but athletic wear? I don’t even like regular, bad-for-the-earth athletic wear! Not to mention I know nothing about accessorizing for a hike! I am totally panicking until I came across the Horny Toad Serrano Pants in Dark Charcoal.
