Make Lemonade... with fresh squeezed lemons and oranges, and fresh mint from the garden.

Ingredients

1-1/2 cups Sugar

2-1/2 cups Water

1 cup fresh Mint Leaves

Juice of two (2) Oranges

Juice of six (6) Lemons

4 teaspoons grated Orange Peel

Fresh Orange or Lemon Slices

Sprigs of fresh Mint for Garnish

Directions

  1. Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil for five (5) minutes. Remove pan from heat and cool slightly.
  2. Put mint leaves in a small bowl. Add the syrup made from the water and sugar, orange and lemon juice, and the grated orange peel. Cover and let the mixture steep for one (1) hour. Strain into a 1-quart container with a lid. Keep mixture refrigerated.
  3. When ready to make lemonade, mix one (1) part lemon-mint mixture with two (2) parts water. Serve in chilled glasses over ice and garnish with a thinly-sliced orange or lemon round and a sprig of freshly snipped mint from your garden.

Makes about 1-quart syrup to make 3-quarts of lemonade.

tried to make lemonade on my own a couple of times and it was a disaster. This easy to make recipe makes delicious lemonade. The only problem with it, it goes so fast. :) Thanks Cris!
