My favorite outfitter!

Wait! Don't think you have to rely on REI for your next camping trip! There's Wilderness Exchange just down the street!

This place has friendly and super knowledgeable staff - they are very helpful and able in fitting backpacks and will tell you if you should find a different brand or type of item at another store. They want to make sure that your experience is not hampered by inappropriate gear for your trip or your body type.

They have great values in used gear - if you want a tent, this is the place to go first! Their book selection is top notch - I can spend hours just browsing.

They also have a bulletin board so that you can put up a note to meet hiking or climbing partners. It's not a chain - it's very local - and they are well worth the visit.
