Bought a beautiful French lacquered table made of recycled wood (yes!), paid $70 for delivery and it arrived with an ugly split between two of the tabletop boards. The delivery company blamed WD, and WD blamed the delivery company. WD insisted that I pay $70 to have the delivery company swap out the table for an undamaged one! They in essence blamed me for the split, not their craftsmanship, making me pay for their mistake. A $1k table should survive a delivery, and if not, WD should make it right. They didn't. Exercise caution when working with them and their delivery service. You might just get stuck in the middle with no recourse.

Wooden Duck is a great concept - they create classic, functional, elegant furniture from reclaimed wood. Much of their wood comes from the beams and supports in old buildings that are being demolished. These beams are huge - they are thick, solid and contain few knots, making them strong and ideal for the classic Craftsman, Shaker and Mission style furniture that they create.
Wooden Duck's factory also has a great policy when it comes to scraps -- come and get it! If you need small scraps or blocks of wood for your back yard barbecue or campfire, phone ahead to make sure they have some available and then load up -- I've stocked many week-long campouts with rich smelling doug fir and cedar campfire material. It starts quickl, burns hot and smells great (and the pieces are ideal for fire jenga -- use your imagination for that one, no pictures will be provided to protect the innocent or guilty).

I have bought many items of furniture at The Wooden Duck in Berkeley. They re-use wood from various sources and make reasonably priced good furniture. They are very helpful and will do customization too. I have a great large expandable table made of recycled douglass fir, and a big sleigh bed, too. The prices aren't any higher than stores using non-recycled products. Highly recommended!
