Hot chocolate powder, with chilies and cinnamon.
Dagoba Xocolatl cacao powder is my default cocoa powder. It adds subtle spicy kick to just about anything -- and it's great to add to savory sauces (even if you're not a mole queen!). I have used it in cookies, cupcakes, hot chocolate drinks and even in melted chocolate for candies. The container is cardboard and recyclable in the compost bin.

We tried this product. We thought it tasted horrible. We actually returned it to the store. Also, if you are thinking it will taste "authentic," like the mexican drinking chocolate, think again. I'm sorry to be negative, but...yuck.

I am a chocoholic. As such, I love hot chocolate. When I first tried Dagoba's Xoclatl, I was in heaven. As if the spices and that nice chili kick weren't enough, there are chunks of bitter chocolate that get sort of half-melty and float on the top of your drink. Yum!

My boyfriend brought me a can of this from North Carolina. It's absolutely amazing on it's own or as a booster for an awesome cuppa joe. Try it mixed in with some nice plain yogurt as well!

to warm you up this fall, try Dagoba's spicy twist on hot cocoa mix. Made from chocolate that is certified organic and fair trade, this is a real chocolate powder that adds a mayan twist with organic vanilla, nutmeg and (POW!) a pinch of chili powder. It's absolutely delicious, and a perfect warm-up to crisp cold autumnal nights.
